He won a novice event for Michael Dodds and this is his third start here. He was tough there when he needed to be, he is relatively lightly-raced and I’m sure they will have plenty of fun with him. He handles that slow ground. We might run him at the Curragh next week and then give him a break to come back for the spring. S. Foley, rider of Missemma trained by Kieran P. Cotter, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled during this race
The Stewards interviewed Sorcha Woods, rider of Drummond Warrior, concerning her use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In her evidence, Sorcha Woods stated that she had made the running and wanted to keep her mount rolling away in front, but accepted that she was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Sorcha Woods was in breach of regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered her record, they suspended her for 3 racedays
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Coffeemeanscoffee, trained by Tom McGuinness, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 45-70 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st 2lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 8st 6lbs Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
