Permission was given for Brazen Belle (GB) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post and for both Mrs Bagerran (IRE) and Jungle Bee (IRE) to go early to post.
A query was raised to consider why Colin Teague was running Brazen Belle (GB) here at Ripon on going described as Good, having reported that the filly would have preferred a quicker surface following its last run at Redcar on 30 May 2022 on going with the same official description where Brazen Belle (GB) finished unplaced, beaten by 8¾ lengths.
The trainer stated that in his opinion the ground at Redcar was riding slower than the official description of Good and that he was happy for the filly to take its chance here this evening.
The Starter reported that Jungle Bee (IRE) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
Tim Easterby was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
The performance of Blackcurrent (GB), which finished unplaced, beaten by 10½ lengths, was considered.
Alan Brown’s explanation that the gelding is perhaps in need of a break having run 12 times this year, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Blackcurrent (GB), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, David Allan reported that Jungle Bee (IRE), placed second, hung right-handed throughout and Harrison Shaw reported that Contactless (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling.
Lewis Edmunds reported that DYLAN’S LAD (IRE), unplaced, became unbalanced by the undulations on this occasion.
