Dundalk Fri, 15th Nov, 2024  Dontspoilasale All good! I was very happy with him. . He finished well over five on his last run and he's probably more of a six (furlong horse) which was ideal. . Adam was very good on him, we were drawn wide and he got him out and got him up there into a nice position. . He worked well and he's probably dropped down a few pound. . The job is done and the boys are happy. 

Dundalk Wed, 13th Nov, 2024  Annaghmccanns She probably just has spooked a little bit coming out of the stalls the first day, she jinked a little bit to the left - just greenness. We are not big Flat trainers and we wouldn't have a lot of runners on the Flat. We might get a few more now it it was going to keep going like that!. She has (done it well and progressed from the first day) - to be fair, she stayed really well the last day, she had a lot of ground to make up. She was beaten a lot less the last day than what she lost and she stayed well. That's the only thing I said to Wayne was that I thought she stayed well. He used that little bit of information and all his years experience on top of that, and that was it. It worked out well and she stayed all the way to the line.

Dundalk Fri, 25th Oct, 2024  Eclairage I'm delighted for the owner (Siobhan Murphy). I really thought she could win. That's why I put McDonogh on, I saw that he was doing 8-7. I said I would either get Hollie Doyle or McDonogh. I said to Nathan Crosse if he would ride her and I told him 'out the gates and gone' - he works for Willie McCreery next door to me. He had to ride for Marnane. Kevin O'Ryan rang me and I said to put Declan McDonogh up because he is brilliant out of the gate.

Dundalk Fri, 11th Oct, 2024  Eddie G He's a lovely little horse. He was unlucky in Galway this year and the handicapper gave him 4lb for that. He gave him 4lb for being second another day as well and sometimes when horses like this get two penalties for being second, they struggle. . Thankfully we got away with it and he got his win for the year. He was off injured early in the year, so it's great. . Padraic (Connolly) and the syndicate are from Galway and that was his first run in Galway this year when we ran him first time back.  

Curragh Sat, 5th Oct, 2024  Lismacbryan She's learning on the job. She had a lovely run the other day and we're running out of time so I said we'd let her go again. The horses are running well now so we need to be running them. We were quiet enough all year and everyone has been patient, it's paying off now thank-God. She's in again on Wednesday at Navan and I'd imagine she'll go again. I thought she wanted slower ground but the young lad got off her the other day and said don't be afraid to run her on nice ground. She got a very good ride from Paddy McGettigan two days ago. He educated her and wasn't hard on her so that had a big part to play in it as well. Robbie Colgan couldn't do the weight today, he rode her in her maidens and was good on her as well so it's a big team effort.

Down Royal Fri, 6th Sep, 2024  Lightning Bear I thought he was overpriced and I was sure he would come forward significantly from his first run - more so than most of ours usually would. . Wesley gave him a super ride and it just keeps everything going really well. I can't believe how it has all come together so nicely. . He's a homebred as well - I actually bought him directly from my father at Goffs Book 2 for five grand, minimum bid,and here we are. He has won a 50 grand bonus and a bit of prize money. . Now I've to bring all the lads to Vegas as a little treat! . It is the inception of the (Jack Davison) racing club and we have got the dream result. A couple of the lads are here today and we'll have a party in the near future I'm sure. . He'll go for the half million (Goffs Million), he's a nice type of horse and whatever he does from here onwards, will be a bonus. . I just want to compliment the lads on doing such a good job because as a youngster he was tricky to break and get going. You need a couple of experts around you with the tricky ones. . I'm lucky I am able to stand here and get interviewed or receive the trophy, but there is a lot of work behind the scenes and I'm really lucky with the team I have.

Galway Fri, 2nd Aug, 2024  Bessie Abott We knew she was a very talented filly. We were expecting her to run a big race but we thought she might give it away at the stalls, which she did. She's a half-sister to a multiple Listed winner in America. We've known for a while that she has that kind of ability. We were aiming at here and it has worked out. Unfortunately the owner couldn't be here as his young one was sick. She was showing an awful lot at home. We had schooled her out of the stalls but she was coming away slow. We said we'd bring her here anyway and give her a good education. Once I knew she had got into contention she was going to be very close.
