An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start, involving King Sharja (GB), unplaced, ridden by James Sullivan, Amaysmont (GB), placed third, ridden by Andrea Pinna and Kodebreaker (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Dylan Hogan.
Sean Kirrane, the rider of Amayretto (GB), unplaced, was also interviewed but found not to be involved.
Sullivan was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he manoeuvred right-handed when insufficiently clear, taking Amaysmont (GB) off its intended line and the rider to take a check which in turn, took Kodebreaker (IRE) off its intended line.
Just inside the final furlong, Amaysmont (GB), placed third, lugged quickly right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts to prevent the gelding in doing so, which in turn took Kodebreaker (IRE), placed fourth, off its intended line, causing the rider of a weakening Amayretto (GB), unplaced, to take a precautionary check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any runner.
Following the race, Joey Haynes reported that Mykonos St John (GB), unplaced, was outpaced early on.
