Permission was given for Bonaventure (GB) to be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately half a furlong out involving the winner, Eye Of Dubai (GB), ridden by Jason Hart and Brunel Nation (FR), placed second, ridden by David Egan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Eye Of Dubai (GB)’s placing as the gelding shifted left-handed bumping and taking an improving Brunel Nation (FR) off its intended line, before being corrected by the rider.
Eye Of Dubai (GB) shifted further left-handed thereafter, taking Brunel Nation (FR) slightly off its line just short of the winning post to be beaten a diminishing short head and revised the placings as follows: First: Brunel Nation (FR); Second: Eye Of Dubai (GB); Third: Indivar (IRE); Fourth: Bonaventure (GB).
The interference was found to be accidental as Eye Of Dubai (GB) shifted left-handed, despite Hart’s efforts to correct the gelding.
Following the race, Harry Davies reported that The Bitter Moose (IRE), placed fifth, did not handle the dip on this occasion.
