The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the last 150yds involving Vale Of Glory, ridden by Eoin G
Kelly, placed second, and Dylan Oak, ridden by Annalise Cullen, placed first, where it appeared there was contact between the two. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Eoin G. Kelly stated that he received interference from his outer which in his opinion cost him the winning of the race. He further added that he had to stop riding and also made contact with the rail however on reviewing the video footage, he accepted this was not the case
Annalise Cullen accepted that her mount drifted but felt she did everything in her power to keep him straight and was also of the opinion that her mount drifting made no difference to the result. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while Dylan Oak had caused interference to Vale Of Glory he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that Annalise Cullen, was in breach of Rule 214 in that she had ridden carelessly and having considered her record in this regard the Stewards suspended her for 1 raceday.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won. Riders - Confined to Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii).
