Country Park (IRE) unseated Jonjo O'Neill Jr in the Parade Ring.
Having been examined by the doctor and Veterinary Surgeon at the start, both the rider and gelding were deemed fit to race.
It was noted that a free-running Guard Duty (GB), placed fourth, clipped the heels of Shadow's (GB), unplaced, on the approach to the first hurdle.
It was further noted that Guard Duty (GB) clipped the heels of Pub Crawl (IRE), unplaced, again on the approach to the second hurdle.
Sam Twiston-Davies, the rider of Full Metal Jacket (GB), had fallen approaching the winning line on the first circuit, bringing down Country Park (IRE) and Scintillante (GB), and further hampering both Pub Crawl (IRE), unplaced, and Easter Icon (GB), unplaced.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved and the fall was caused by Full Metal Jacket (GB) sustaining an injury.
An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding the failure to implement the hazard ahead procedure following an injury to a runner approaching the winning line on the first circuit.
The Clerk of the Course, representing the Racecourse Executive; Head Groundsman; Senior Medical Officer and Veterinary Officer were interviewed.
Having heard their evidence, a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
Following the race, Tom Bellamy reported that Guard Duty (GB), which started favourite and finished fourth, ran too freely in the early stages.
