The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Alpha Cephei (GB), ridden by L.T. McAteer, placed sixth, Chief Little Rock, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed second, and The Equator, ridden by R.L. Moore, placed fourth, where it appeared The Equator got a little tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, R.L.Moore stated that his mount was running green in the closing stages and emptying when Chief Little Rock drifted in. L.T. McAteer stated that his race was run when the interference took place and had no bearing on his finishing position. J.A. Heffernan stated that he was finishing fast when his mount drifted in before correcting him quickly at the line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action
R.L. Moore, rider of The Equator, trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a little tight for room
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Alonzo (GB) trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien was initially sound post race but on further examination he was found to be lame when he had cooled off
D. McMonagle, rider of Alonzo (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his action shortly after leaving the starting stalls.
