Jamie Spencer, the rider of Adela Of Champagne (FR), which finished fifth of nine runners, beaten by 8¼ lengths, was asked to explain his riding from a furlong out where he appeared to prematurely ease the filly.
The Stewards interviewed Spencer and viewed recordings of the race.
Spencer explained that Adela Of Champagne (FR) hung badly right-handed preventing him from being able to give the filly a hands and heels ride within the final furlong.
He had also explained that he had previously ridden the filly in a piece of work when hanging badly right-handed and felt that she was unsuited by the Good ground which in his opinion was riding quicker on this occasion and would prefer a slower surface.
His explanation was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that the filly finished lame on its right-hind.
