Raydiance (GB) ran yesterday, 4 October 2019, at Ascot.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Officer, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
Roger Charlton was fined #650 for doubly declaring Makzeem (GB) to run in THE bet365 CHALLENGE CUP (CLASS 2 HERITAGE HANDICAP) at Ascot and THE RACING TV EBF STALLIONS GUISBOROUGH STAKES (CLASS 1) at Redcar, and the gelding ran in the latter.
An enquiry was held to consider why Henry Candy was running Greenside (GB) here at Ascot on going described as Soft, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Ascot on 4 October 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that the Owner's wanted to run the gelding in the Challenge Cup on Saturday and the entry on Friday was back stop in case the gelding did not make it in.
The performance of Raising Sand (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Jamie Osborne could offer no explanation for the gelding's performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, shortly after the race, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The performance of Ripp Orf (IRE), which finished unplaced, was considered.
David Elsworth's representative's explanation that the colt was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Soft on this occasion, and would prefer a quicker surface was noted.
Ripp Orf (IRE) was routine tested.
