Thomas Willmott, the rider of the winner, Romeo Brown (GB), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from the second last fence.
Willmott was accompanied by his Jockey Coach.
The winner, Romeo Brown (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Carlisle on 30 October 2022 where the gelding finished sixth of eight, beaten by 46 lengths.
Sue Smith’s explanation that the gelding appreciated the Good to Soft going on this occasion compared to Heavy, Soft in places on its last time out at Carlisle was noted.
Romeo Brown (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Kevin Sexton reported that Skippin Court (IRE), unplaced, made a mistake at the final hurdle and subsequently lost its action.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
