We were running out of time then and ran her in a Listed race but I probably jumped the gun a bit putting her into that, and she got injured in that race. It's just taken a bit of time to get her back right but hopefully she's a filly with a future. She won that nicely. She's come back from an injury, so today was the most important day so far and I have no idea what the program book has for her or anything like that. We were still even guessing trip-wise where she was and I'd say in time she could even get a bit further. Emmet Mullins, trainer
The Stewards informed Paul W. Flynn, trainer that Arayacan, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again
The Stewards interviewed D.A. McCormack, rider of Ciao, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards accepted the rider's explanation regarding his use of the whip in the forehand position but found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his good record into account cautioned the rider
R. Coakley, rider of Arayacan, trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was very fractious in the stalls, he signalled to the starter that he was ready to go but his mount reared as the gates opened and he had no chance to keep the partnership intact.
