Upon leaving stalls, the winner, Cherokee Dance (USA), jumped awkwardly and shifted right-handed, bumping Eagle One (GB), placed sixth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Cherokee Dance (USA).
Approaching the first bend, Eagle One (GB), placed sixth, became unbalanced when awkwardly placed between the winner, Cherokee Dance (USA) which was lugging right-handed and Tommy R (IRE), placed seventh, which edged marginally left-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately 1½ furlongs out there was interference between Meisterzinger (IRE), unplaced, which hung left-handed and Can Can Girl (IRE), placed third, which edged slightly right-handed, causing Meisterzinger (IRE) to be inconvenienced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Can Can Girl (IRE).
Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that Meisterzinger (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed in the home straight, Ben Robinson reported that Can Can Girl (IRE), placed third, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities; Dougie Costello reported that Eagle's Realm (GB) hung left-handed and was denied a clear run for some distance from approaching 2 furlongs out until near the final furlong and Daniel Muscutt reported that The Bay Warrior (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
