The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Galveston (GB), ridden by G.M. Ryan, placed first, and Local Lad, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed second, where it appeared Galveston rolled around
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately two furlongs from the finish involving Junkyard Dog, ridden by D. McMonagle, placed fourth, Mocking, ridden by D.E. Sheehy, placed fifth, Adrienne, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed sixth, and Prada's World, ridden by R.C. Colgan, unplaced, where it appeared numerous horses came close together. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.E. Sheehy stated that there was no gaps so he just had to wait. R.P. Whelan stated that he didn't feel much at the time. D. McMonagle stated that when Prada's World was going backwards he had to switch so he didn't run into the back of him. He further added his mount overreacted and bumped the horse beside him. R.C. Colgan stated that his mount shied away from the horse in front of him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
