Permission was given for Blue Hero (CAN) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.

Dixon was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
Rounding the first bend, a very free running Half Nelson (GB), unplaced, had to be checked to avoid the heels of Bakersboy (GB), placed second, after improving rapidly to that runner's inside when Muscutt was edging left-handed toward the rail having initially being clear, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately 3½ furlongs out, Ghostly (GB), placed fifth, was hampered and lost ground when trapped on the heels of a rapidly weakening Half Nelson (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Tyler Heard reported that Blue Hero (CAN), placed fourth, was denied a clear run approaching 2 furlongs out; Kieran O'Neill reported that Half Nelson (GB) had ran too freely and Faye McManoman reported that Ghostly (GB), placed fifth, suffered interference in running.
