I like these conditions races. It gives horses like him another chance to win a race. I was a bit surprised he went up 1lb as he was beaten five and a half lengths in fourth. His previous highest winning mark was 84 and he's 87 now. Shane said there was a bit of pace in the race. He got a lead and battled well in the last furlong when he needed to. He's had a good year winning three. He's been in a very good vein of form. Seven furlongs or a mile is ideal for him. K J Condon, trainer

The Stewards fined Muredach Kelly, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Befortyfour (GB), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Bilderberg, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be Post Race Normal.

Penalties - Performances before July 30th for every 1lb above the rating of 85 1lb extra; On or after July 30th for each race won 5lb extra
