The Starter reported that Sharqeyya (IRE) was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn at 18:16.
Owen Burrows was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the one furlong marker when the winner Regular (GB), ridden by Jason Watson interfered with Shawaaheq (IRE), placed second, ridden by Dane O’Neill.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Regular (GB)’s placing, in that although Shawaaheq (IRE) was carried notably off its intended line, the ground and momentum lost as a result equated to less than the beaten margin of 3/4 of a length and Shawaaheq was being comfortable held on the run to the line.
Watson was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to hang left-handed without timely correction, taking Shawaaheq (IRE) off its intended line for some distance.
Approximately 2 furlongs out Eligible (IRE), placed third, hung right and briefly hampered Dubai Ice (USA), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved, nor had it improved the placing of Eligible (IRE).
An enquiry was held following a report from the Starter that Callum Shepherd, the rider of Corrida De Toros (IRE), unplaced, had used inappropriate language during the loading process of this race.
The Starter, Stalls Team Leader and the rider were interviewed and having heard their evidence, Shepherd was found guilty of improper conduct and suspended for 2 days.
Following the race, Callum Shepherd reported that Corrida De Toros (IRE), unplaced, lost its action approximately 1 ½ furlongs out; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the colt failed to reveal any abnormalities.
