The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mint Approved (FR), trained by Sean Thomas Doyle, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards received a report from Mr. H.T. Hynes, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr J.M. Fennell, rider of Goodmancon, weighed in at 1.3lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that that he had kick back on him which he felt attributed to the discrepancy. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that rider was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record (second offence), they suspended him for two racedays
