The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving High Court Cave, ridden by Mr O
McGill, placed fourth, and Fool's Errand, ridden by Mr G. Daly, unplaced, where it appeared High Court Cave caught a heel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. O. McGill stated that he let a shout but the horse on his outside continued to come in and he clipped a heel. Mr. G. Daly accepted he was at fault and apologised
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Mr. G. Daly, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record(first offence)in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr. G. Daly for two race days
Mr O. McGill, rider of High Court Cave, trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slightly impeded coming down the hill
Mr F. Maguire, rider of Kaikoura (FR), trained by J.P.Dempsey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled to hard throughout
