The Stewards enquired into the fall of Desertmore Glen (GB), ridden by J.C. Gainford after the third last hurdle
Evidence was heard from J.C. Gainford, J.S. McGarvey, rider of King And Queen (Fr), P.T. Enright, rider of Golden Glen and R.P. Treacy, rider of Red Finch. In evidence J.C. Gainford accepted responsibility for his fall and described that he went for a gap that was not there, had no room and clipped a heel which caused his fall. R.P
Treacy stated that he did not see the fall but had to jump over the fallen animal. P.T. Enright stated that he was on the inside of the faller and maintaining his line. J.S. McGarvey stated that he did not feel his mounts heel being clipped. Having considered the evidence and viewed a recording of the fall, the Stewards accepted J.C. Gainfords admission and considered the fall to be accidental. No further action was taken
At the request of the Stewards, D. Meyler, rider of Presenting Cody, trained by Kieran Purcell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly left
R.P. Treacy, rider of Red Finch trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was hampered by the horse that slipped up
S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Monatierna trained by Stephen Ryan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount pulled up lame.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
