Blackmore completes quick double on Centurion Steel
I'm delighted with that. We always hoped that this might be his game. He definitely appreciates the better ground and he did it well in the end. Hopefully there will be a rated novice somewhere for him now. We will have a look and see. This race today was the one we were always going for.
Craic delivers for Budds & Fitzgerald
I had this race picked out for him a while back. I thought he got too high of a rating in the handicap and I ran him in one the other day, just to see what would happen. Danny Mullins rode him and said he wouldn't be afraid to go for this race today. He ran a good race for his first handicap despite finishing down the field a bit. Danny said if he came out of it okay and got in here that he'd run him. I knew he'd like it around here because he was third here on the flat. He just needs trappy little tracks. He is going to improve. He is not overly big and is still a bit immature. His handicap mark will be fairly high now!. I'm delighted with him. He has his own way of jumping and is very fast away from a hurdle. That helps him because he spares so much energy then. He will probably go back on the flat now. There is a couple of choices around here for him in August.
Goulane Chosen takes advantage of hurdles mark
It's about time he took advantage of his mark over hurdles because we have tried a few times and it didn't work out. Maybe he wasn't 100 percent fit once or twice but he was hopping today. He was entitled to do that with the mark he had. We haven't really looked to see what is coming up for him. The chases are scarce enough for him at the moment. He won on very heavy ground before but in his older age he finds it easier on the better ground. It's usually the other way around.
Miss Tempo makes it a treble for Rachael
McInerney just denies Blackmore a four-timer
She is fierce quiet everywhere bar the races. We were probably unlucky the last day in Downpatrick because it was a bad race. We didn't even get our money back off the bookies! . Donie rode her first time out two or three years ago and I'm delighted for him. If I had the choice of anyone to give a winner to it would be him. He is a great horseman. We can run her where we want now because we will get in. She was balloted out all over the country since she finished fourth in Thurles. She is a well-bred mare and the owner had Granny Biddy with us too so he is a lucky man.
