The Stewards interviewed Miss R. Murphy, rider of Seaforth Mancy, concerning her use of the whip in latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that she lost count of the number of strikes as her mount was responding and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied Miss R. Murphy was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g and considering her record in this regard, they cautioned her on this occasion
The Stewards interviewed Miss E. Cummins, rider of Time Gents, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In evidence, Miss E. Cummins stated that this was her second ride and through inexperience she lost count and got excited when her mount was running on. She accepted that she had breached the whip guidelines and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards suspended Miss E. Cummins for one raceday

Rules or Rules of Racing Weights - 4-y-o 11st 11lbs 5, 6 and 7-y-o 12st 2lbs Mares allowed 7lbs Riders - Ladies who are Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. Ladies who are Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules (other than Apprentices) who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii) (up to and including 31st May) may also ride in this race.
