The Stewards interviewed D. Meyler, rider of Skellig Rocks (FR), concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found D. Meyler to be in breach of Regulation 10. 3 (f) in that he used his whip with excessive force and frequency. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended D. Meyler for 5 racedays. The Stewards interviewed C.M. Leonard, rider of No Pressure Pat, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found C.M. Leonard to be in breach of Regulation 10.3 (b) in that he used his whip unneccessarily when his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned C.M. Leonard regarding his future responsibilities. The Stewards interviewed J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Megara (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found J.P. O'Sullivan to be in breach of Regulation 10.3 (b) in that he used his whip unnecessarily when his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone. Having considered his record in this regard, The Stewards suspended J.P. O' Sullivan for 2 racedays.
