The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving General Idea (GB), ridden by Sam Ewing, placed fifth, Goonyaboyya, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, unplaced, and Chica Linda, ridden by P.A. Harnett, unplaced, where it appeared interference had taken place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P.A
Harnett stated that his charge was leaning left and he corrected it immediately. J.M. Sheridan stated that he felt pressure from his left but kept a straight line. Sam Ewing stated that he kept a straight line and felt pressure from both sides. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
S.T. McCullagh, rider of Alhaajeb, trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right up the straight
J.M. Sheridan, rider of Goonyaboyya, trained by Gerard Keane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had to be straightened up at the furlong pole as a result of a minor bump.
