Permission was given for both Bingley Crocker (IRE) and Evolicatt (GB) to go early to post and for Little Edi (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference just inside the 2 furlong marker when ZARA’S RETURN, unplaced, ridden by Nicola Currie, interfered with the winner, Rose Prick (IRE), ridden by Saffie Osborne.
Currie was cautioned for careless riding as she allowed her mount to hang right-handed without sufficient correction causing Osborne to have to take a slight check.
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Belon (IRE), placed sixth, shifted marginally right-handed carrying Freetodream (GB), unplaced, slightly right-handed at the same time as the winner, Rose Prick (IRE), went for a gap resulting in that filly becoming tight for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Charles Bishop reported that Bingley Crocker (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the colt failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Nicola Currie reported that ZARA’S RETURN, which started second-favourite and finished unplaced, hung badly right-handed into the rail and stopped quickly thereafter; the Veterinary Officer subsequently reported that a post-race endoscopic examination revealed that ZARA’S RETURN had scoped dirty.
Ross Coakley reported that Uffington (GB), which started favourite and finished fourth, hung right-handed under pressure.
