The Stewards interviewed G.P. Halpin, rider of Silk Cravat (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found G. P. Halpin in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g) excessive frequency
Having considered G. P. Halpin's record in this regard and pursuant to Regulation 10.6 (a) the stewards suspended G. P. Halpin for six racedays. Mr. J. M. McGrath absented himself from this enquiry.
