From what I had seen at home, I thought he'd improve from it. I actually saw him going down to the start at Dundalk and he immediately caught the eye, as he looked like a horse who shouldn't be running in a claimer. He had a good action, was a very big horse and flew home for second having had little luck in-running from stall 14. I thought he was value for E5,000. . His owner Staton Flurry is from Arkansas, is a prominent owner in America and this is his first foray into European racing so I'm delighted to train a winner for him. Jack W Davison, trainer
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Jack Spriggins trained by J.P. Murtagh had blood at both nostrils post race
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Bucaneer's Spirit, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed first, and Trueba, ridden by R.M Mulligan, unplaced, where it appeared interference may have occurred
R.P. Whelan stated he was angling out for a run when making slight contact with Trueba. R.M. Mulligan stated he received a bump from his right. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found R.P. Whelan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard (first offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two raceday
C.D. Hayes, rider of Campari Soda, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a little bump in the straight but it was of no consequence
