Cameron Noble, the rider of MICHAEL’S MOUNT, placed fourth beaten by 20 ½ lengths, had appeared to ride a finish a circuit too soon.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, the rider was suspended for 10 days.
Following the race, Alistair Rawlinson reported that Faithful Mount (GB), placed fifth, was never travelling, William Cox reported that Diocletian (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly, John Egan reported that Drakensberg (IRE), placed seventh, had no more to give.
Ian Williams reported that Paddy A (IRE), which was pulled up, was unsuited by the Heavy going and would prefer a sounder surface.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Addicted To You (IRE), unplaced, lost its left fore shoe and further reported that MICHAEL’S MOUNT was suffering from post-race ataxia.
