FormscanBy Gary Carson - MEHMAN may be able to get his head in front again now after some decent efforts. The Mehmas gelding came to win his race a furlong from home here last time before getting outstayed late on by Clarita. That came over seven furlongs and dropping back to six now looks an obvious move. All his previous wins have come at five furlongs. Course regular Harry's Bar commands obvious respect after two solid runs here this campaign. He is a four-time course and distance winner. Inishmot Prince is another old favourite around here and also has to be on the shortlist.

That was pretty impressive. I did think that he had come on at home. I thought he was a little bit keen the first day and Ben said he didn't get home. Today dropping him back to six he settled really well and he said he picked them up in a couple of strides. It was visually very impressive, there were a lot of fancied horses in that race today. I don't know what to do with him next to tell you the truth. He's still a bit immature and he should improve so I don't think I'll rush him. I would have been disappointed if he got beaten the form he was in at home. Since Bellewstown, he really came on very well. He is 21lb lower on grass than he is on all-weather, but he needed every yard of it. You don't want muddling pace, he has to have something fast and something to aim at. James said he had a job pulling him up, he only got going at the end. I was going to put him in at Fairyhouse on Monday, but I just don't think Fairyhouse suits him. It is six furlongs on a bend and is just too muddling for him, he needs room. Class is permanent and form is temporary! It's been a while since he won but he ran a great race in the premier handicap at Cork (last month), where he finished fourth,. We ran him in the Curragh the last day where he was drawn right out on the wing and he got very upset in the stalls and he ran very freely. He was in good form and we just felt that Fairyhouse would suit him, around a bend, that he'd be able to relax and drop it, which he did. Adam gave him a good ride, he was very cool on him. The plans for the boys are that they're always over for the end of July and that's where he'll go. I'll see what the handicapper gives him and we'll try and get him into those two big handicaps in Galway. If he's going to get in off his current mark I'll leave him but if not I might have to run him again.
