Paul Townend successfully deputised for Bryan Cooper (food poisoning) on Chisholm Trail in the opening Kullens Kitchen Thomastown Mares Maiden Hurdle at Gowran.

The John Brennan-owned and Paul Nolan-trained daughter of Presenting beat another by the late great sire, Presentingprincess by a length and a quarter.

"I wouldn't step her up to three miles anyway," said Nolan afterwards.

"She disappointed in Listowel and I'd say it was a pretty ordinary race after the favourite, Agusta Gold was taken out.

"She got another bonus today. She got one after winning her bumper as well. That's 10,000 Euros and it's like winning an extra race.

"She'll stay going for the summer. She flatters to deceive a little bit, I thought she'd pick up and kick on but she didn't."

The Stewards fined Garrett James Power, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of O'Faolains Cailin, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of O' Faolains Cailin in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(iv).

The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Agusta Gold, trained by Ms Margaret Mullins, for failing to lodge the passport in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(i) and fined the trainer €350 under the provisions of Rule 90(ii).

C.D. Maxwell, rider of Tin Town Liz trained by J.G.Cosgrave, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not handle the ground.

T.N. Brett, rider of Grey Habit trained by P.Meany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not handle the ground.

T.J. Nagle Jr., trainer of Sorrel Sue reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge was found to have pulled a front shoe.
