After race at Fairyhouse Sun, 28th Nov, 2021 (1st)
Like every one else, I thought we were struggling at halfway and we were looking like we weren't at the races. I don't think Denis could go any quicker but from three out I thought we were getting back into it,. I started shouting at the second last as the two in front went so quick and mightn't keep it up and there was not a lot between him and Fury Road over hurdles. My lad jumped reasonably well but going as quick as that, maybe he was struggling a bit on the ground. You'd have to think three miles is his trip and the three-mile race at Leopardstown over Christmas is the obvious next race for him. He has a bit of blood on his nose - I've never seem him bleed before but sometimes they can get that from up high (in his nostril) or sometimes it can happen when they hit a fence. It didn't stop him today anyway. I feel sorry for Nicky Richards who bought him as a Landrover (Sale) horse and he had to sell him because he couldn't get an owner for him; he called him Beacon Edge because he had a fella who owned the Beacon Hotel who he thought would buy him but still didn't.

After race at Navan Sun, 21st Feb, 2021 (1st)
he (Beacon Edge) had a colic at Christmas, spent nearly a week in Kildare (veterinary clinic) and he was just wasn't himself in Naas last time, but he's a fair horse. I wondered about him getting the trip but he stays. He's a very nice horse. Michael (O'Leary, owner) had it in his head that he'd go to Liverpool for the two-and-a-half mile race but he's in the Stayers. We have Diol Ker as well and we'll see what turns up in it. He was meant to go over fences this year but when we thought about what was coming out over fences we thought we might be as well staying where we are. We got it right the way it looks at the minute anyway. That was a nice prize today and a nice race to win.

From the first day he arrived in the yard we’ve just loved him.

After race at Downpatrick Fri, 9th Oct, 2020 (1st)
He couldn’t have done it any easier. We’ll have to talk with Eddie and Michael (O’Leary) about whether he goes over fences or stays over hurdles. . I suppose we didn’t learn a lot there other than the fact he is well and that he jumped brilliant. Sean said he didn’t really handle the track that well and when he was in front he was a bit lairy. If he stays over hurdles he will go for those conditions hurdle races. I think two and a half (miles) might suit him better and I’ve felt that all along. He can be dragged into a race rather than sort of push it a bit over two miles. It wouldn’t be beyond a possibility that he will go chasing now, we’ll see. He’s a gorgeous horse and a beautifully-made horse. Nicky Richards bought him and sold him and Nicky was crying because he had nobody to buy him. It was killing Nicky to let him go. He won a bumper in Ayr and Eddie and myself loved him. . We had him racing twice recently and took him out as we were afraid of the ground. . It is a testament to Richard (Lyttle) and his team here that we were not afraid to bring him to Downpatrick. This racecourse has improved so much in the last few years. It’s a credit to the team.

After race at Punchestown Wed, 16th Oct, 2019 (1st)
watching it I was a bit disappointed as I thought he’d travel through the race a bit better. Rachael thought she’d have won (when the other horse fell at the last). I was a bit disappointed when he got to the front how lairy he was from there to the line when he was left on his own. I do think he’s a very nice horse and he might even be better over further, although he did show us plenty of boot last year. He did stay well in those bumpers we ran him in. He has jumped very well at home and didn’t jump as well there but I’m sure he will come on for the run.
