He enjoyed himself there, you could see the class that he still has from three out to the last.

his preparation wasn't ideal and that's maybe why the horse drifted; we did fancy him but my horses weren't 100% over Christmas and had a week off. We also had frost at home and missed valuable work and took him to the beach on Sunday but it was half-frozen so he hasn't really galloped. He hasn't been eating as well as he can either and his coat hasn't been great; Denis also thought he needed the run. he won’t be going to the Dublin Racing Festival in Leopardstown and will probably go to Cheltenham now. I think he’s entitled to go there now. If we have to go for a lesser race in between we will do that and if not, it will be straight to Cheltenham. He will probably go for the Supreme but will be entered in the Ballymore as well. That was the dream but he had to go and do that today. He’s done it now so we can dream!

I was a small bit worried coming here so quick and ideally if he wasn't going up so much I wouldn't have ran. He has won five now and we can look forward to going to some of the better races and I couldn't be happier. I think two miles could be his best trip because if you are able to gallop all over horses over 1m2f and make them look slow, surely two mile is your trip. He stays, gallops, jumps, the ground and trip didn't matter, and he does seem to be a nice horse. When he initially had him, he looked a nice horse but lost his way with aspergillus and we had a crap year last year and hadn't a winner but everything is clicking into gear now. I wouldn't rule out running him in a Grade 1 at Christmas but I want to give him a break now and he is going for six week's rest. He is in a Pertemps Qualifier at Newbury on Thursday but we won't go - you people will be glad to hear that!. I haven't made a secret that I'd love to see JP McManus come on board the yard and a horse like him would be ideal. To train for JP McManus would be a dream and if the right money and the right owner came along, I'd consider selling him to stay in the yard.

It was a nice performance and I didn't really know what to expect today going up 22lbs, the ground was changed and he was up in grade. The handicapper was right to be fair, he told me he thought he was right and we are happy,. To win four-in-a-row with any horse is amazing but I paid a lot of money for him and I'm delighted it has worked out. Ciaran Fennessy advised me to buy the horse and he has never put me far wrong yet and he sold me See Double U, Da Baba Elephant and The Jam Man. He has never put me far wrong with a horse yet and I trust him - when he tells me he has one for me to buy I don't even go and look at the horse, I just transfer the money and go and get it. He is a big part of this whole success. Maxine has ridden this horse in schooling races when he was young and it made sense to go for a Ladies Handicap Hurdle which may have been a wee bit weaker than a normal 0-116 race. Maxine is as good a rider in Ireland and was ultra cool on him; I was actually panicking turning for home and was saying 'move forward' but she knew what she had and read the race brilliantly. He is in at Cork on Sunday but I'll ask the handicapper as it depends on what he is going to do. Ideally I don't want to go to Cork but if the handicapper is going to be hard I'll have to run and then give him a break until the spring as he is more a good ground horse. We all want to go to Cheltenham in the spring but he is not as good as that yet. He needs to go up to 130-135 to go to Cheltenham and

He is gorgeous and is a National Hunt horse not a flat horse. He was doing a half-speed there and you'd wonder how he got beaten in a four-year-old point-to-point! It shows the quality of the four-year-old maidens and he obviously can stay and has speed and was still only second. We are delighted and while we feel a little hard done-by for getting 26lbs and the second in that race didn't get a pound so we can't really work that out but we'll take it on the chin and move forward. He is a jumper and will be a chaser down the line so anything we do now is a bonus. He is a big baby, the yard had aspergillus last year and his first couple of runs I thought were brilliant in maiden hurdles and then went by the wayside and grew two inches since. He took a bit of time and I was running him on the flat to sharpen him up and learn to enjoy his racing because they were all bleeding when they got aspergillus. It looked like we'd struggle when he went up 19lbs on the flat but he has since gone up another 3lbs so we said we may as well go back to the flat as it looked like he would struggle over hurdles. He didn't get in at the Curragh on Thursday and it is probably just as well as three runs in six days wouldn't be ideal. We'll mind him now and I'll put him away and let him develop. I am willing to take horses myself but don't want to take horses just for a training fee; I would love to get a couple of nice types to go to the bigger meetings. I have six riding out, I still have my kitchen

I gave him a few spins on the Flat to give him confidence because we seemed to sicken him last year. Coming off the point-to-point field Willie (Mullins) gives them a year off and I see why now. They are trained hard to run in four-year-old point-to-points and I probably should have given him time off to mature. Maybe the time through lockdown and different things has helped and maybe things are falling into place for him. He also been racing more on winter ground and that ground seems to suit him. He has a Flat pedigree. hopefully the handicapper is not too hard on him and he can go and be competitive again.
