After race at Leopardstown Wed, 28th Dec, 2022 (1st)
It was unfortunate that A Plus Tard couldn’t run. The race worked out well and Jack gave him a beautiful ride. Paul (Townend) steadied the pace down the pace and Jack let him stride on. He said the faster this horse goes the better he’ll be. I thought Jack was wonderful. He’s not an easy horse and he’s actually starting to settle now. He was very kinky and Jack said he wasn’t doing a stroke the whole way up the straight. He jumped perfect all the way. We don’t gallop him a whole lot and he just does his routine work each day. We left him very short in Down Royal and Jack was thrilled and said he’d come on an awful lot from it. I’d imagine he’ll come back here for the Irish Gold Cup but we’ll have to talk to Michael (O’Leary, owner) and Eddie and make a plan. It’s great for Michael and Anita as it’s their first time to come racing this season and they are big supporters of Cullentra. They have backed me from day one. There was a lot of talk last season about which race he would go for in Cheltenham but he’ll definitely be going for the Gold Cup this year.

He jumped super and did everything really, really well. He jumped straight as a die, he can hang a bit but nothing today. It was either one or the other - I was either gone too soon or they would never catch me. To be fair to the horse, he kept responding. The more I pulled out of him, the more he responded. He got into a lovely rhythm. I was keen to run him during the week, we were thinking of going for a handicap, but thankfully Eddie and Michael (O'Leary, Gigginstown) let me run him in this. I wanted to find out where I was going, how good or bad he was. I know he's a horse with a massive engine but he can be very hot and cold. It's great for Michael and Anita, and the whole team in Gigginstown and all the team at Cullentra. We have a massive team behind us and to win a race like this is unbelievable. We've had three seconds today so to win a Gold Cup now has just made up for it. I said to Eddie before the race that he'd either win or pull up and thankfully he won. We've got the Gold Cup, the Ryanair and he's in the Grand National. We'll have a chat with Michael and Eddie and myself and Ryan (McElligott) and Lisa (O'Neill) and the whole team. He jumps a bit left so we said we'd go down the paint today and he actually had loads to room down there so it worked out grand. I thought it was going to be one of those days but the only thing I had in my head was at least the horses were running well. If they had been second last my head would have been on the ground. It's a testam

He's a good horse and was a Graded horse over hurdles but he lost his way a bit. I fancied him in the Kerry National but he unseated at the third fence. It's great to win a nice pot with him. It's been a good day.

After race at Naas Sun, 14th Mar, 2021 (1st)
It was the perfect race for him and on ratings he was entitled to win. He’ll probably head to Fairyhouse and Punchestown. He did it well and was happy bowling along in front. He jumped great and stayed on well. It looks like he’s better going that direction.

After race at Navan Sat, 5th Dec, 2020 (1st)
He’s not a bad horse and ran well in a few graded races last year. He has to go left-handed. He ran well behind Asterion Forlonge at Punchestown when you look at how much ground he gave away by jumping left.
Gordon Elliott
After race at Fairyhouse Sat, 30th Nov, 2019 (1st)
He’s a grand horse and is a chaser in the making. He’s very keen at home and he’d a nice run at Cork the last day. He learned a lot there today and is a nice horse.
