N.M. Crosse, rider of Saint Irini trained by E. D. Delany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled during this race
The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Too Precious, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Damien Murphy, Authorised representative for Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported that their charge had failed to handle softer ground conditions on her last two runs but reproduced the form on tonights surface that she had shown last year when making her racecourse debut here
Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report
The Stewards intended to interview Charles O'Brien, trainer, concerning the pattern of behaviour of Fake Media under the provisions of Rule 14 for failing to load into stalls for the third successive time. The Stewards called for Charles O'Brien or his Authorised representative to attend this enquiry but were informed by Security personnel at 8.46 p.m. that the Authorised representative had already departed the racecourse. As the Stewards were unable to hear any evidence, they referred the matter to the Referrals Committee
The Stewards ordered that Fake Media would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards rated 45-65 Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra; for each race won.
