Barry McHugh, the rider of Crownthorpe (GB), placed fifth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post before being beaten a short head for fourth place.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, McHugh was suspended for 2 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished fourth.
