The Stewards received a report from Turf Club Starter, Mr. D. Cullen, that A. McCurtin, rider of Page Turner put his horse into a canter with a view to taking an advantage at the start which resulted in a false start. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards found A. McCurtin in breach of Rule 208 by putting his mount into a canter with a view to taking an advantage and suspended him for two race days.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards rated 0-145 Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase or steeplechases after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
