Permission was given for Nearooz (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Lady Mascara (GB), ridden by George Wood and trained by James Fanshawe, which after missing the break was settled towards the rear of the field before staying on under a hands and heels ride in the home straight to finish fifth, beaten by 5½ lengths.
The rider and the representative of the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider stated that his instructions had been to jump out and get Lady Mascara (GB) in amongst runners, however the filly, which had been fractious in the stalls, was slowly away, a fact that he had reported at Scales.
He added this had resulted in him getting further back in the field than intended and he would have liked to improve his position from halfway down the back straight but had been unable to do so as Lady Mascara (GB) was pocketed both behind and between runners.
He further added that he had asked the filly to quicken approaching the 2 furlong marker when a clear run presented itself and Lady Mascara (GB) had stayed on pleasingly, in his opinion obtaining the best possible placing.
Wood explained that he had indicated to the trainer that the filly would be suited by a step up in distance.
The representative of the trainer confirmed the instructions and having spoken to the trainer he was satisfied with the ride given.
Their explanations were noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the first bend.
It was found to be accidental and caused by the winner, Nearooz (GB), ridden by David Egan, lugging slightly left-handed away from New Jazz (USA), placed second, ridden by Robert Havlin, causing a free-running Aigiarne (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Hector Crouch to be checked.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend when Sweet Poem (GB), placed third, ridden by Amelia Glass, interfered with Masai Spirit (GB), unplaced, ridden by Danny Brock.
Being a 7lb claimer, Glass was offered the opportunity to have someone accompany her in the enquiry, but declined.
Glass was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as she had allowed her mount to drift left-handed towards the rail, causing Masai Spirit (GB) to be checked.
Seraphim (GB), unplaced, Sadler's Soul (USA), unplaced, Under The Storm (GB), placed fourth and Jaidaa (GB), unplaced, which were following, were all carried wide as a result.
