The Stewards enquired into two incidents in the closing stages of this race involving Sasta, ridden by W.T. Byrne, placed third, Waterville Lady, ridden by S. Foley, placed fifth, Miss Adventurous, ridden by P.A. Harnett, placed fourth and Scholastic, ridden by M.P. Sheehy, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence the stewards were of the opinion that the first incident was accidental and they took no further action. In relation to the second incident, the Stewards found W
T. Byrne in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered W. T. Byrne's record in this regard the stewards cautioned W. T. Byrne on this occasion
