The Stewards received a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter,Mr. P.L. Malone, that Mr P.J
O'Neill, rider of Getaway Katie had failed to carry out his instruction to continue walking until the flag was dropped and caused the false start. Evidence was heard from the rider who stated that he had mistaken the starting protocol and apologised for his actions. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr P.J. O'Neill was in breach of Rule 208(v)(b) by failing to comply with the starters instructions. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr P.J
O'Neill for one raceday
