Permission was given for WHATSNOTTOKNOW (IRE) to wear a red hood which was removed at the start.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following possible interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Third Wind (GB), ridden by Tom O’Brien, and Alaphilippe (IRE), placed second, ridden by Paddy Brennan.
Having interviewed the riders and viewed recordings of the incident, the Stewards were satisfied that the movement of both horses was independent of each other, and therefore, no interference had taken place.
They ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
It was noted that both Tullybeg (IRE), unplaced, and Stoney Mountain (IRE), unplaced, were hampered by the faller at the fourth hurdle.
Sire Du Berlais (FR), was also hampered by the faller up against the running rail and had to be checked by the rider, losing many lengths.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that both Ballyandy (GB), unplaced, and Coeur Serein (IRE), placed eighth, received treatment for post-race heat stress.
Gordon Elliott reported that Sire Du Berlais (FR), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was unsuited by the Soft ground which, in his opinion, was riding tacky.
