Permission was given for Grand Paradis (FR) to wear a red hood to be removed at the start.
The winner, Coole Cody (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Cheltenham on 29 January 2022 where the gelding finished seventh of 10, beaten by 17 ¾ lengths.
It was noted that Evan Williams could offer no explanation for Coole Cody (IRE)'s improved form; the gelding was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the final bend involving Slate House (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Brendan Powell, and the winner, Coole Cody (IRE), ridden by Adam Wedge.
Powell was suspended for 3 days for careless riding, for allowing his mount to shift left-handed when not sufficiently clear, causing Wedge to have to check against the rail.
Adam Wedge, the rider of the winner, Coole Cody (IRE), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from turning in.
Following the race, Neil Mulholland reported that Chinwag (GB), which was pulled up, was possibly outclassed in more competitive race, and Gordon Elliott reported that Grand Paradis (FR), which was pulled up, had jumped poorly in the Soft ground which he considered to be tacky.
