J.B. Foley, rider of Global Society (GB) trained by Mrs Prunella Dobbs, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled during this race
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Grain De Folie (FR) trained by John C. McConnell, which bolted on the way to the start and was withdrawn from this race, was noted to have blood at both nostrils when returning to the unsaddling enclosure
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Silvertown, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards enquired into the riding of C.D. Maxwell where he continued to ride his mount Silvertown over the final three fences when the animal was tailed off and appeared to be tired. C.D. Maxwell stated that his mount was struggling to go with the pace of the race but jumped very carefully and gained confidence. He added that his mount was not giving his best on the heavy ground but he was satisfied to just let him finish the race in his own time. He apologised for his actions and felt in hindsight that he should have pulled his mount up before the last fence. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that C.D. Maxwell was in breach of Rule 272(i). Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended C.D. Maxwell for three racedays
J.C. Canavan, rider of Doyenotheline trained by L.J.Archdeacon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his action suddenly and was pulled up.
