W.J. Lee, rider of Evasive Power (USA) trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room about two furlongs out but did not travel from the top of the hill

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the latter stages of this race involving Inflection Point, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed second, Parkers Hill, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, Silverkode, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed third, Kodiqueen, ridden by M.A. Gallagher, unplaced and Mogwli, ridden by Jack Cleary, placed first, where it appeared that Mogwli had drifted right towards Parkers Hill followed by an inward movement from Silverkode where Kodiqueen and Parkers Hill appeared to receive interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Jack Cleary gave his evidence in the presence of W. McCreery for whom he rode. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings. They did, however, consider that G.F. Carroll had caused interference by riding carelessly, this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended G.F. Carroll for 2 racedays James J. Doyle, rider of Caesar's Comet trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

An extended handicap for three years old and upwards (85 = 10st)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
