An enquiry was held to consider why Richard Fahey was running Penwortham (IRE) here at Chester on going described as Good (Good to Soft in Places), having declared the gelding a non-runner at Chester on 11 September 2020 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer’s representative stated that due to the season nearing an end, Penwortham (IRE) was running out of options and they were therefore happy for the gelding to take its chance.
Following the race, Rachel Richardson reported that Redrosezorro (GB), unplaced, anticipated the start and was slowly away as a result; Ben Robinson reported that Boardman (GB), placed fifth, was slowly away and denied a clear run and Silvestre De Sousa reported that Battered (GB), unplaced, was never travelling.
