He will go into a Trial now, maybe one of the French trials, to give him more experience. A P O'Brien, trainer
S. Foley, rider of Panic Alarm, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left under pressure
R.P. Cleary, rider of Trachonitus, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received interference in the straight
C.D. Hayes, rider of Semblance Of Order, trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very badly hampered in the straight
N.M. Crosse, rider of Duke Of Leggagh, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout and was also hampered in the straight
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final two hundred yards involving Panic Alarm, ridden by S. Foley, placed third, Semblance Of Order, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed sixth, and Duke Of Leggagh, ridden by N.M. Crosse, placed second, where it appeared that Panic Alarm moved left and interference took place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, C.D. Hayes stated that his mount was on the quarters of Duke Of Leggagh when Panic Alarm arrived on his outside and applied pressure from which his own mount got hampered and in turn knocked onto Duke Of Leggagh. N.M. Crosse stated that despite his mount leaning right throughout, he had kept straight but received a bump on his hind quarters from his outside. S. Foley stated that he had hit his mount twice and he kept a straight racing line but on applying the whip for the third time, he felt his horse go to the left but was immediately straightened up. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that S. Foley was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended S. Foley for three racedays. Mr Philip F. Myerscough recused himself from this enquiry and Mr N.B. Wachman acted as the Chairman of the Raceday Stewards
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about two furlongs from the finish involving Panic Alarm, ridden by S. Foley, placed third, Trachonitus, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed fourth, Semblance Of Order, ridden by C.D
Hayes, placed sixth, and Duke Of Leggagh, ridden by N.M. Crosse, placed second, where it appeared that interference took place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, R.P. Cleary stated that he was riding on the outer of the field of runners when the horses on his inner came out onto his racing line and he had to snatch up a little. S. Foley stated that Duke Of Leggagh racing inside of him had been hanging and bumped Semblance Of Order causing a concertina effect of bumping. C.D. Hayes stated that he had kicked his mount forward when Duke Of Leggagh moved outwards and caused a knock on effect of bumping. N.M. Crosse stated that his mount had hung right throughout this race and at this point he had a good hold of the left rein to keep him straight but on changing his hands, his mount went right. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action. Mr Philip F
Myerscough recused himself from this enquiry and Mr N.B. Wachman acted as the Chairman of the Raceday Stewards.
