The Stewards enquired into an incident 200 yards from the winning post involving Mirza (GB), ridden by F.M. Berry, placed fifth, Monsieur Joe, ridden by J.P. O'Brien, placed fourth and Russian Soul, ridden by S. Foley, placed third, where it appeared both Mirza(GB) and Monsieur Joe ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action. S. Foley, rider of Russian Soul trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room a furlong out. Miss Natalia Lupini, trainer of Abstraction, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge scoped badly and was coughing post race.
