he’d a grand run in a bumper but did a bit too much in the race, and the last day he ran way too keen and wasn’t left alone. I thought if he got an easy lead today that the experience he got the last day would be of some benefit. He relaxed lovely in front and was able to dictate the pace. I knew he’d quicken up well as he’s out of a fast horse. He’d shown enough that he could win one of those and possibly progress. He could go for a novice in Galway all being well. The Stewards enquired into possible interference close to the finishing line involving Sicario, ridden by D.R. Fox, placed fifth, The Last Emperor (GB), ridden by B. Hayes, placed fourth and Sharg, ridden by A. Ring, placed sixth, where it appeared that Sharg got short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned

Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference was accidental in nature and they therefore made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Bachelor, trained by Noel C. Kelly, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
