The Stewards enquired into an incident about two furlongs from the finish involving All Dolled Up, ridden by D.P. Linehan, unplaced and Annella, ridden by D.M. Melia, unplaced, where it appeared that All Dolled Up ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by D.M. Melia riding carelessly and therefore cautioned him having taken his previous good record into consideration. Furthermore the Stewards also cautioned D.M. Melia for a breach of Rule 213 following his failure to report at first instance that his mount had hung after one furlong, this matter being offered as part of his evidence at this enquiry. D.P. Linehan, rider of All Dolled Up trained by James G.Sheehan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room two furlongs out and was checked. D.M. Melia, rider of Annella, trained by Peter Maher, reported at a Stewards' enquiry that his mount continuously hung after running one furlong of this race. A.J. Breslin, rider of Celeste De La Mer trained by K.J. Condon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped at an early stage of this race.
