The Stewards enquired into an incident 2 furlongs from the finish involving Wild Cherry, ridden by M.P. Sheehy, Funny Little Ways, ridden by S.M. Crosse and Star Of Cashel, ridden by C.D. Hayes where it appeared that Funny Little Ways got tight for room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, in the presence of Mr
B. Powell accompanying M.P. Sheehy. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental in nature and they therefore took no further action
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Darkest, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap for three years old only rated 50-80 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
