Dhushan (IRE) lost a front shoe late in the loading process at the start.
As there was insufficient time for the colt to be re-shod, and as the trainer had indicated at declaration stage that the colt should be withdrawn in the event of losing a front shoe, Dhushan (IRE) was withdrawn by the Starter at 2.

Harry Russell, the rider of the winner, Tashkhan (IRE), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from 2½ furlongs out.
Approaching the 2 furlong marker, SUMMER’S KNIGHT, placed second, hung left-handed inconveniencing Sir Rumi (IRE), placed sixth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of SUMMER’S KNIGHT.
Following the race, Ben Curtis reported that Kondo Isami (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
